A COGNITIVE LOAD OF THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS IN TEACHING BILINGUAL MATHEMATICS AT SMP NEGERI 3 MALANG

Abstract
 
The purpose of the research was to describe the cognitive load of seventh grade students in teaching bilingual mathematics based on cognitive load theory. According to cognitive load theory, the student’s cognitive loads consist of intrinsic cognitive load, extraneous cognitive load, and germane cognitive load. Trough managing the intrinsic load, reducing the extraneous load, and increasing the germane load, the process of getting information can be more effective. So, the learning process can be more effective too. The result of the research showed that intrinsic load was influenced by the number of element of interactivity of material that learned, the germane load is influenced by the design of learning and a mental effort of the students in formed the scheme of knowledge, extraneous cognitive load is influenced by the way of teacher in presenting the material, language used, psychological condition of the students, and external distraction.

MATEMATIKA DALAM AL-QUR'AN





Selama ini, ide tentang integrasi sains dan agama masih cenderung sebagai wacana. Belum nampak adanya bukti konkret yang dapat menunjukkan bahwa sains dan agama adalah terintegrasi atau dapat diintegrasikan. Penulis rupanya ingin memberikan suatu bukti bahwa sains dan agama sebenarnya terintegrasi. Hadirnya buku membuktikan bahwa tidak ada dikotomi antara sains dan agama, khususnya matematika dan Al-Qur’an. Buku yang berjudul “Matematika dalam Al-Qur’an” ini seakan mengumumkan dan menyadarkan kita semua bahwa Al-Qur’an sebenarnya berbicara tentang matematika.
